the intelligence unit of the Federal Capital Territory,Abuja sent out reports to churches,mosques and market leaders about an intending terrorist attack in Abuja which it said was imminent.The feeling is even in the air that the misguided elements are likely to unleash mayhem soon.<br />

<li>   All and sundry are advised to to take necessary precautions to prevent it or contain it better if and when they strike.The following have been identified as possible targets.</li>

<li>   Public places like markets,Parks,Gardens,Motor Garages,</li>
<li>    Airports,Public Power Supply lines,Water treatment Plants and Reservoirs</li>

“Aside the 105 soldiers killed by Boko Haram, additional 34 soldiers

 concur with Mr. Deji Adeyanju. The most heartless and reprehensible 
thing that our government could have done is to cover-up the fact that 
105 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram a few days ago. To do such
 a thing is simply evil.<br /><br />A soldier ought to be honoured in death 
and this is especially so if he died in the course of doing his duty and
 fighting for his nation.<br /><br />The government has not only dishonoured
 them by not acknowledging their sacrifice but they have also buried 
them in the wilderness like rabid dogs.<br /><br />This is wickedness of the
 highest order and President Buhari, his Chief of Army Staff and his 
Minister of Defence should bury their heads in shame.<br /><br />Anyone that
 buys the lie and propaganda that the 105 soldiers never died and that 
they are still alive is a compound fool or a village idiot.<br /><br />Will 
the military also deny the fact that a few days ago 34 of our soldiers 
were killed by Boko Haram? These boys died for their country. Why deny 
them?<br /><br />I am outraged by the fact that a soldier will sacrifice his
 life for his country yet the citizens and authorities of that country 
don’t even appreciate it.<br /><br />Pictures of the dead bodies were posted
 on social media. Everyone in the military knows that those soldiers are
 dead. It is an open secret. Yet because government denies it so many 
people just choose to believe them.<br /><br />The truth is that Boko Haram 
must have used chemical weapons in the attack. When you look at the 
pictures of the dead bodies this is obvious. It was probably mustard 
gas.<br /><br />All we want from the military is the truth. If 105 soldiers were not killed then how many actually were?<br /><br />The whole episode happened last week in Borno State and the military authorities are denying it. I am sickened by that.<br /><br />If
 others cannot appreciate the importance of honouring our dead soldiers,
 I can. I will not be intimidated and I will not remain silent.<br /><br />Tell
 us where our boys are buried and if you refuse to do so we will keep 
asking. There must be accountability and respect for those who have made
 the supreme sacrifice just to keep the rest of us safe. Our soldiers 
deserve that much.<br /><br />Finally, let it be said loud and clear that 
since President Buhari came to power he has not bought one bullet for 
the military. Considering the fact that we are in the middle of a 
protracted and very bloody war I believe that this is utterly shameful. 
If you say you want to fight and defeat Boko Haram then why are you not 
buying arms for your troops?<br /><br />This brings me to other matters and raises other questions about our President’s sincerity of purpose and commitment.<br /><br />You
 say that you are fighting Boko Haram yet you are travelling the world 
drinking tea with world leaders whilst your soldiers are secretly being 
slaughtered.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet you were 
nominated as their spokesman and chief negotiator two years ago in a 
proposed peace talks with the Federal Government.<br /><br />You say you are
 fighting Boko Haram but the man you appointed as your National Security
 Adviser was retired from the army a few years ago for ordering the 
release of Boko Haram terrorists under suspicious circumstances.<br /><br />You
 say you are fighting Boko Haram but the first thing you did when you 
came to power was to remove military checkpoints. This guaranteed Boko 
Haram free movement and access to the entire country.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet last year you told the world that an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North.<br /><br />You
 say you are fighting terror yet since you came to power Boko Haram has 
grown in strength, has regained lost territory and has been declared the
 “worlds number one most deadly terror group” by the Global Terror 
Index.<br /><br />You say you are fighting terror yet since you came to 
power Nigeria, according to the Global Terror Index, has been declared 
as not just having “the first most deadly terror group in the world” 
which is Boko Haram but also of having “the fourth most deadly terror 
group in the world” which is a group that the Index describe as the 
“Fulani militants” and that we call the Fulani herdsmen.<br /><br />You say 
you are fighting Boko Haram yet since you came to power Nigeria has been
 declared the world’s “third most terrorised country” by the Global 
Terror Index after Iraq and Afghanistan which were declared first and 
second respectively, whilst Syria and Pakistan were declared fourth and 
fifth.<br /><br />You say you are a “born again democrat” yet you voted 
against the protection of human rights at the United Nations alongside 
Iran, Zimbabwe and North Korea.<br /><br />You say you respect human rights 
yet you barricade Colonel Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security 
Adviser, in his home, endanger his life, deny him medical attention, 
flout court orders and make him critically ill.<br /><br />You say you 
respect human rights yet you arrest Governor Boni Haruna simply for 
standing as surety for Dasuki and you try to force him to abandon his 
friend.<br /><br />You say you respect human rights yet you raid Governor 
Attahiru Bafarawa’s home and arrest and detain his son simply because he
 is friends with Dasuki.<br /><br />You say you respect freedom of speech 
and human rights yet you lock up Nnamdi Kanu indefinitely and your 
security agents shoot two unarmed and harmless pro-Biafra youths to 
death in Enugu simply because they were involved in a peaceful 
demonstration.<br /><br />You say that you are a believer in the rule of law
 yet you ordered your secret police to storm a sitting governor’s 
official home in Akwa Ibom knowing that he enjoys immunity from such 
matters.<br /><br />You say you love Nigeria yet a bomb goes off in Kano 
killing over 21 people and instead of coming back home to mourn with 
your people you continue junketing around the world.<br /><br />You say you 
know how to run Nigeria but according to Paul Wallace and Michael Cohen 
of the United States magazine known as Bloomberg Business your “bounce 
has become bust”, your “policies irk investors”, you have “destroyed 
Nigeria’s economy” and you “do not have the capacity to move the country
 forward”.<br /><br />You say that you know how to manage the economy yet 
stocks and shares have crashed, small businesses are folding up, our 
foreign currency has dried up, industries are collapsing, agricultural 
output has decreased, our foreign reserves have been spent and the value
 of the naira has depreciated since you came to power and it continues 
to fall.<br /><br />You say you know what you are doing and how to manage 
Nigeria’s affairs yet the U.S-based Washington Times newspaper says that
 you lied to America about your so-called good intentions for Nigeria 
and that you have “duped the United States of America” with your false 
promises and empty words.<br /><br />You say that you are fighting poverty, 
yet according to the Business Day newspaper, Nigerians are “getting 
poorer for the first time since 1999”.<br /><br />You say that you will 
restore our country’s fortunes yet the fuel queues are back and the 
prices of food, transport and basic commodities are soaring by the day.<br /><br />You
 say that you are a man of your word and after you were declared winner 
of the election you promised not to malign, persecute, witchunt, 
demonise, disrespect or go after President Goodluck Jonathan and members
 of his administration unless you have concrete evidence of wrongdoing, 
yet when you came to power you did precisely that.<br /><br />You say you 
are fair-minded, true to your friends, loyal to your supporters and 
always reasonable yet you did not concede even one ministerial slot or 
approve one ministerial nominee of the two men that helped you more than
 any others to win the presidential election, namely President Olusegun 
Obasanjo and Governor Bola Tinubu.<br /><br />You say that you want the 
country to change, that you believe in fairness and equity, that you are
 a progressive, that you believe in a generational powershift and that 
you want the country to move forward, yet you are trying to destroy 
Governor Bukola Saraki simply because he won an election and became 
Senate President.<br /><br />You say that you are fighting corruption yet no
 one has been made to face the music or brought to book over the 25 
billion naira REMITA and Systemspecs scandal, and neither has the matter
 been clarified or resolved even though it has been established that the
 whole deal was struck under your watch.<br /><br />You say you love Nigeria
 and all Nigerians yet your Fulani kinsmen, under the guise of herding 
cattle, are slaughtering thousands of innocent people all over the south
 and Middle Belt, yet you remain their Grand Patron and you refuse to 
utter to a word of condemnation for their actions.<br /><br />You say you 
respect Nigerians yet every time you travel out of the country you spend
 your time telling foreigners and the foreign media how useless, rotten 
and corrupt your people are and how you are the only saint in Nigeria.<br /><br />In
 view of all these, I am constrained to ask whether President Muhammadu 
Buhari has a conscience or is it that he has just lost touch with 
reality? Everything that I said about him during the presidential 
campaign has been confirmed and in just six months he has betrayed the 
trust and squandered the goodwill that the Nigerian people bestowed upon
 him in the March presidential election. I have to say that I am not 
surprised by this because his “change” mantra was just an illusion.<br /><br />What
 he and his APC failed to disclose to the Nigerian people during the 
campaign is that what he meant by “change” was a change from light to 
darkness. Sadly our people trusted him and now he has plunged our nation
 into that darkness.<br /><br />May God enable him to find the courage to 
retrace his steps before it is too late and may the Lord deliver Nigeria
 from those that are around him that fail to tell him the truth.<br /><br />I
 gather that they call those of us who oppose President Buhari and that 
are PDP supporters the “wailing wailers”. That is an interesting 
expression because by the time Buhari finishes with Nigeria I have 
little doubt that the entire country will be wailing.<br /><br />The truth 
is that I would rather be a “wailing wailer” that posterity vindicates 
than a “lying liar” or a “howling howler” who has lost his way and who 
continues to have confidence in a man like Buhari and a party like the 
APC that is hell bent on destroying our country and our cherished 
democratic institutions with their Rambo-like insensitivity and total 
ineptitude.<br /><br />All those “lying liars” and “howling howlers” who 
voted for President Buhari should clap for themselves for the terrible 
mess our country is now in. We will remember them in our prayers too.

Security
 means different things to people all around our globe. For some it's 
financial security, others maybe security in their homes to protect 
their valuables. If we do not value anything or anyone then this logic 
will be obsolete. Now ever since I was a young boy growing up in 
Nigeria; I always felt secure because during these times (late 80's - 
early 90's); one didn't hear much about bombings or robberies as such. 
Maybe it might have been that my mind was not entirely focused on that 
because I was mainly concerned about playing football with friends and 
watching bollywood movies. My close encounter with this matter came 
around Christmas time circa 88-89. My siblings and I were returning from
 visiting our dad. I remembered when we opened the door, things seemed 
out of place as broken glass were on the dining table and valuables were
 missing. The one thing that I still think about was my favorite VHS 
movie (The Muppets) went missing with our video cassette recorder. Fast 
forward almost two decades, now living in the United States of America; 
security is pretty much all that is discussed here. After the attacks in
 New York in 2001, everyone works together to ensure that their 
neighbors are secured. In the neighbourhood in which I reside; most of 
my neighbors have home security systems because everyone goes about 
their businesses each morning. For my residence, we have what is know as
 ADT for residential. They provide services for other sectors as well in
 different industries and places of businesses. The service that they 
provide for a fee monthly protects your home from poisonous gases, fire 
and burglary. A system is placed in your home with a special pin code 
that can be armed and disarmed from the comfort of your mobile device 
application. All entrances and Windows have a special sensor that 
triggers an alert to you and then to local law enforcement in any 
attempt to breach your home and they respond within minutes. So it's 
very important that citizens place a level of trust with their 
neighbours; then build a relationship with local authorities (police or 
the fire service). I personally know that this feat may seem impossible 
but it's attainable with the right implementation of policies and 
procedures free of bias and corruption. Nigeria first and foremost 
should have an operational government with transparency and examples of 
good leadership that trickles down to its localities thereby building a 
sense of trust and confidence in the citizens of any and all communities
 that make up the diaspora.</div>

       Fast  forward to August 2015,when an ISIS Cleric in Lebanon,Ahmed Al Assir was arrested by Lebanese authorities as he attempted to fly out of the country to Nigeria on a forged passport.Two men connected to Al Assir,who he was coming to visit in Nigeria were arrested in Kano,Nigeria and handed over to the National Security Adviser,General Babagana Monguno{rtd}.<br />

callers, you increase your chances of becoming a victim of telemarketing
 fraud.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Here are some warning signs of telemarketing fraud—what a caller may tell you:</span><br />

<ul>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">“You must act ‘now’ or the offer won’t be good.”</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">“You’ve won a ‘free’ gift, vacation, or prize.” But you have to pay for “postage and handling” or other charges.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">“You must send money, give a credit card 
or bank account number, or have a check picked up by courier.” You may 
hear this before you have had a chance to consider the offer carefully.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">“You don’t need to check out the company 
with anyone.” The callers say you do not need to speak to anyone 
including your family, lawyer, accountant, local Better Business Bureau,
 or consumer protection agency.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">“You don’t need any written information about their company or their references.”</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">“You can’t afford to miss this ‘high-profit, no-risk’ offer.”</span></li>
</ul>
<span class="blackgraphtx">If you hear these or similar “lines” from a telephone salesperson, just say “no thank you” and hang up the telephone.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Telemarketing Fraud: </strong></span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">It’s very difficult to get your money back
 if you’ve been cheated over the telephone. Before you buy anything by 
telephone, remember:</span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Don’t buy from an unfamiliar company. 
Legitimate businesses understand that you want more information about 
their company and are happy to comply. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Always ask for and wait until you receive
 written material about any offer or charity. If you get brochures about
 costly investments, ask someone whose financial advice you trust to 
review them. But, unfortunately, beware—not everything written down is 
true.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Always check out unfamiliar companies 
with your local consumer protection agency, Better Business Bureau, 
state attorney general, the National Fraud Information Center, or other 
watchdog groups. Unfortunately, not all bad businesses can be identified
 through these organizations. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Obtain a salesperson’s name, business 
identity, telephone number, street address, mailing address, and 
business license number before you transact business. Some con artists 
give out false names, telephone numbers, addresses, and business license
 numbers. Verify the accuracy of these items.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Before you give money to a charity or 
make an investment, find out what percentage of the money is paid in 
commissions and what percentage actually goes to the charity or 
investment.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Before you send money, ask yourself a 
simple question. “What guarantee do I really have that this solicitor 
will use my money in the manner we agreed upon?”</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Don’t pay in advance for services. Pay services only after they are delivered.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of companies that want to send a 
messenger to your home to pick up money, claiming it is part of their 
service to you. In reality, they are taking your money without leaving 
any trace of who they are or where they can be reached.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Always take your time making a decision. Legitimate companies won’t pressure you to make a snap decision.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Don’t pay for a “free prize.” If a caller tells you the payment is for taxes, he or she is violating federal law.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Before you receive your next sales pitch,
 decide what your limits are—the kinds of financial information you will
 and won’t give out on the telephone.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be sure to talk over big investments 
offered by telephone salespeople with a trusted friend, family member, 
or financial advisor. It’s never rude to wait and think about an offer.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never respond to an offer you don’t understand thoroughly. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never send money or give out personal 
information such as credit card numbers and expiration dates, bank 
account numbers, dates of birth, or social security numbers to 
unfamiliar companies or unknown persons. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be aware that your personal information is often brokered to telemarketers through third parties. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">If you have been victimized once, be wary
 of persons who call offering to help you recover your losses for a fee 
paid in advance.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">If you have information about a fraud, report it to state, local, or federal law enforcement agencies.</span></li>

<span class="blackgraphtx">Nigerian letter frauds combine the threat 
of impersonation fraud with a variation of an advance fee scheme in 
which a letter mailed from Nigeria offers the recipient the 
“opportunity” to share in a percentage of millions of dollars that the 
author—a self-proclaimed government official—is trying to transfer 
illegally out of Nigeria. The recipient is encouraged to send 
information to the author, such as blank letterhead stationery, bank 
name and account numbers, and other identifying information using a fax 
number provided in the letter. Some of these letters have also been 
received via e-mail through the Internet. The scheme relies on 
convincing a willing victim, who has demonstrated a “propensity for 
larceny” by responding to the invitation, to send money to the author of
 the letter in Nigeria in several installments of increasing amounts for
 a variety of reasons.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Payment of taxes, bribes to government 
officials, and legal fees are often described in great detail with the 
promise that all expenses will be reimbursed as soon as the funds are 
spirited out of Nigeria. In actuality, the millions of dollars do not 
exist, and the victim eventually ends up with nothing but loss. Once the
 victim stops sending money, the perpetrators have been known to use the
 personal information and checks that they received to impersonate the 
victim, draining bank accounts and credit card balances. While such an 
invitation impresses most law-abiding citizens as a laughable hoax, 
millions of dollars in losses are caused by these schemes annually. Some
 victims have been lured to Nigeria, where they have been imprisoned 
against their will along with losing large sums of money. The Nigerian 
government is not sympathetic to victims of these schemes, since the 
victim actually conspires to remove funds from Nigeria in a manner that 
is contrary to Nigerian law. The schemes themselves violate section 419 
of the Nigerian criminal code, hence the label “419 fraud.”</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Nigerian Letter or “419” Fraud:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">If you receive a letter from Nigeria 
asking you to send personal or banking information, do not reply in any 
manner. Send the letter to the U.S. Secret Service, your <a class="internal-link" href="https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field">local FBI office</a>, or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. You can also register a complaint with the <a href="https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/">Federal Trade Commission’s Complaint Assistant</a>.</span></li>

in one of these schemes, encourage that person to contact the FBI or the
 U.S. Secret Service as soon as possible.</span></li>

themselves as Nigerian or foreign government officials asking for your 
help in placing large sums of money in overseas bank accounts.</span></li>

sources, including by stealing your wallet, rifling through your trash, 
or by compromising your credit or bank information. They may approach 
you in person, by telephone, or on the Internet and ask you for the 
information.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">The sources of information about you are 
so numerous that you cannot prevent the theft of your identity. But you 
can minimize your risk of loss by following a few simple hints.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Identity Theft:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never throw away ATM receipts, credit statements, credit cards, or bank statements in a usable form.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never give your credit card number over the telephone unless you make the call.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Reconcile your bank account monthly, and notify your bank of discrepancies immediately.</span></li>

<span class="blackgraphtx">The variety of advance fee schemes is 
limited only by the imagination of the con artists who offer them. They 
may involve the sale of products or services, the offering of 
investments, lottery winnings, “found money,” or many other 
“opportunities.” Clever con artists will offer to find financing 
arrangements for their clients who pay a “finder’s fee” in advance. They
 require their clients to sign contracts in which they agree to pay the 
fee when they are introduced to the financing source. Victims often 
learn that they are ineligible for financing only after they have paid 
the “finder” according to the contract. Such agreements may be legal 
unless it can be shown that the “finder” never had the intention or the 
ability to provide financing for the victims.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Advanced Fee Schemes:</strong></span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">If the offer of an “opportunity” appears 
too good to be true, it probably is. Follow common business practice. 
For example, legitimate business is rarely conducted in cash on a street
 corner.</span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Know who you are dealing with. If you 
have not heard of a person or company that you intend to do business 
with, learn more about them. Depending on the amount of money that you 
plan on spending, you may want to visit the business location, check 
with the Better Business Bureau, or consult with your bank, an attorney,
 or the police.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Make sure you fully understand any 
business agreement that you enter into. If the terms are complex, have 
them reviewed by a competent attorney.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of businesses that operate out of
 post office boxes or mail drops and do not have a street address. Also 
be suspicious when dealing with persons who do not have a direct 
telephone line and who are never in when you call, but always return 
your call later.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of business deals that require 
you to sign nondisclosure or non-circumvention agreements that are 
designed to prevent you from independently verifying the bona fides of 
the people with whom you intend to do business. Con artists often use 
non-circumvention agreements to threaten their victims with civil suit 
if they report their losses to law enforcement. </span></li>

<span class="blackgraphtx">“Rolling Lab” Schemes:</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Unnecessary and sometimes fake tests are 
given to individuals at health clubs, retirement homes, or shopping 
malls and billed to insurance companies or Medicare.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Services Not Performed:</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Customers or providers bill insurers for services never rendered by changing bills or submitting fake ones.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Medicare Fraud:</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Medicare fraud can take the form of any of
 the health insurance frauds described above. Senior citizens are 
frequent targets of Medicare schemes, especially by medical equipment 
manufacturers who offer seniors free medical products in exchange for 
their Medicare numbers. Because a physician has to sign a form 
certifying that equipment or testing is needed before Medicare pays for 
it, con artists fake signatures or bribe corrupt doctors to sign the 
forms. Once a signature is in place, the manufacturers bill Medicare for
 merchandise or service that was not needed or was not ordered.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Health Care Fraud or Health Insurance Fraud:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never sign blank insurance claim forms.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never give blanket authorization to a medical provider to bill for services rendered.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Ask your medical providers what they will charge and what you will be expected to pay out-of-pocket.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Carefully review your insurer’s explanation of the benefits statement. Call your insurer and provider if you have questions.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not do business with door-to-door or telephone salespeople who tell you that services of medical equipment are free.</span></li>

that can be accessed by submitting paperwork with state and federal 
authorities. Individuals promoting this scam frequently cite various 
discredited legal theories and may refer to the scheme as “Redemption,” 
“Strawman,” or “Acceptance for Value.” Trainers and websites will often 
charge large fees for “kits” that teach individuals how to perpetrate 
this scheme. They will often imply that others have had great success in
 discharging debt and purchasing merchandise such as cars and homes. 
Failures to implement the scheme successfully are attributed to 
individuals not following instructions in a specific order or not filing
 paperwork at correct times.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">This scheme predominately uses fraudulent 
financial documents that appear to be legitimate. These documents are 
frequently referred to as “bills of exchange,” “promissory bonds,” 
“indemnity bonds,” “offset bonds,” “sight drafts,” or “comptrollers 
warrants.” In addition, other official documents are used outside of 
their intended purpose, like IRS forms 1099, 1099-OID, and 8300. This 
scheme frequently intermingles legal and pseudo legal terminology in 
order to appear lawful. Notaries may be used in an attempt to make the 
fraud appear legitimate. Often, victims of the scheme are instructed to 
address their paperwork to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Redemption/Strawman/Bond Fraud:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of individuals or groups selling kits that they claim will inform you on to access secret bank accounts. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of individuals or groups proclaiming that paying federal and/or state income tax is not necessary. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not believe that the U.S. Treasury controls bank accounts for all citizens. </span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be skeptical of individuals advocating 
that speeding tickets, summons, bills, tax notifications, or similar 
documents can be resolved by writing “acceptance for value” on them.</span></li>

sold or offered as investments. They are issued by banks to ensure 
payment for goods shipped in connection with international trade. 
Payment on a letter of credit generally requires that the paying bank 
receive documentation certifying that the goods ordered have been 
shipped and are en route to their intended destination. Letters of 
credit frauds are often attempted against banks by providing false 
documentation to show that goods were shipped when, in fact, no goods or
 inferior goods were shipped.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">Other letter of credit frauds occur when 
con artists offer a “letter of credit” or “bank guarantee” as an 
investment wherein the investor is promised huge interest rates on the 
order of 100 to 300 percent annually. Such investment “opportunities”

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Letter of Credit Fraud:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">If an “opportunity” appears too good to be true, it probably is.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not invest in anything unless you 
understand the deal. Con artists rely on complex transactions and faulty
 logic to “explain” fraudulent investment schemes.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not invest or attempt to “purchase” a “letter of credit.” Such investments simply do not exist.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of any investment that offers the promise of extremely high yields.</span></li>

investment that you intend to make, including the parties involved and 
the nature of the investment. </span></li>

<span class="blackgraphtx">International fraud artists have invented 
an investment scheme that supposedly offers extremely high yields in a 
relatively short period of time. In this scheme, they claim to have 
access to “bank guarantees” that they can buy at a discount and sell at a
 premium. By reselling the “bank guarantees” several times, they claim 
to be able to produce exceptional returns on investment. For example, if
 $10 million worth of “bank guarantees” can be sold at a two percent 
profit on 10 separate occasions—or “traunches”—the seller would receive a
 20 percent profit. Such a scheme is often referred to as a “roll 
program.”</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">To make their schemes more enticing, con 
artists often refer to the “guarantees” as being issued by the world’s 
“prime banks,” hence the term “prime bank guarantees.” Other official 
sounding terms are also used, such as “prime bank notes” and “prime bank
 debentures.” Legal documents associated with such schemes often require
 the victim to enter into non-disclosure and non-circumvention 
agreements, offer returns on investment in “a year and a day”, and claim
 to use forms required by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). 
In fact, the ICC has issued a warning to all potential investors that no
 such investments exist.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">The purpose of these frauds is generally 
to encourage the victim to send money to a foreign bank, where it is 
eventually transferred to an off-shore account in the control of the con
 artist. From there, the victim’s money is used for the perpetrator’s 
personal expenses or is laundered in an effort to make it disappear.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">While foreign banks use instruments called
 “bank guarantees” in the same manner that U.S. banks use letters of 
credit to insure payment for goods in international trade, such bank 
guarantees are never traded or sold on any kind of market.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Prime Bank Note Fraud:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Think before you invest in anything. Be 
wary of an investment in any scheme, referred to as a “roll program,” 
that offers unusually high yields by buying and selling anything issued 
by “prime banks.”</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">As with any investment, perform due 
diligence. Independently verify the identity of the people involved, the
 veracity of the deal, and the existence of the security in which you 
plan to invest.</span></li>

<span class="blackgraphtx">“Ponzi” schemes promise high financial 
returns or dividends not available through traditional investments. 
Instead of investing the funds of victims, however, the con artist pays 
“dividends” to initial investors using the funds of subsequent 
investors. The scheme generally falls apart when the operator flees with
 all of the proceeds or when a sufficient number of new investors cannot
 be found to allow the continued payment of “dividends.”</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">This type of fraud is named after its 
creator—Charles Ponzi of Boston, Massachusetts. In the early 1900s, 
Ponzi launched a scheme that guaranteed investors a 50 percent return on
 their investment in postal coupons. Although he was able to pay his 
initial backers, the scheme dissolved when he was unable to pay later 
investors.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Ponzi Schemes:</strong></span><br />

<ul>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be careful of any investment opportunity that makes exaggerated earnings claims.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Exercise due diligence in selecting investments and the people with whom you invest—in other words, do your homework.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Consult an unbiased third party—like an unconnected broker or licensed financial advisor—before investing.</span></li>
</ul>

<span class="blackgraphtx">As in Ponzi schemes, the money collected 
from newer victims of the fraud is paid to earlier victims to provide a 
veneer of legitimacy. In pyramid schemes, however, the victims 
themselves are induced to recruit further victims through the payment of
 recruitment commissions.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">More specifically, pyramid schemes—also 
referred to as franchise fraud or chain referral schemes—are marketing 
and investment frauds in which an individual is offered a 
distributorship or franchise to market a particular product. The real 
profit is earned, not by the sale of the product, but by the sale of new
 distributorships. Emphasis on selling franchises rather than the 
product eventually leads to a point where the supply of potential 
investors is exhausted and the pyramid collapses. At the heart of each 
pyramid scheme is typically a representation that new participants can 
recoup their original investments by inducing two or more prospects to 
make the same investment. Promoters fail to tell prospective 
participants that this is mathematically impossible for everyone to do, 
since some participants drop out, while others recoup their original 
investments and then drop out.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Pyramid Schemes:</strong></span><br />

<ul type="square">
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of “opportunities” to invest your
 money in franchises or investments that require you to bring in 
subsequent investors to increase your profit or recoup your initial 
investment.</span></li>
<li><span class="blackgraphtx">Independently verify the legitimacy of any franchise or investment before you invest. </span></li>

<span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Market Manipulation or “Pump and Dump” Fraud</strong></span></div>
<span class="blackgraphtx">This scheme—commonly referred to as a 
“pump and dump”—creates artificial buying pressure for a targeted 
security, generally a low-trading volume issuer in the over-the-counter 
securities market largely controlled by the fraud perpetrators. This 
artificially increased trading volume has the effect of artificially 
increasing the price of the targeted security (i.e., the “pump”), which 
is rapidly sold off into the inflated market for the security by the 
fraud perpetrators (i.e., the “dump”); resulting in illicit gains to the
 perpetrators and losses to innocent third party investors. Typically, 
the increased trading volume is generated by inducing unwitting 
investors to purchase shares of the targeted security through false or 
deceptive sales practices and/or public information releases.</span><br />

<span class="blackgraphtx">A modern variation on this scheme involves
 largely foreign-based computer criminals gaining unauthorized access to
 the online brokerage accounts of unsuspecting victims in the United 
States. These victim accounts are then utilized to engage in coordinated
 online purchases of the targeted security to affect the pump portion of
 a manipulation, while the fraud perpetrators sell their pre-existing 
holdings in the targeted security into the inflated market to complete 
the dump.</span><br />

The policing of oil pipelines in Nigeria is a great cause for concern.Each year there is on the average about 2000 oil pipeline vandalism in Nigeria by theives who steal the product for sale locally and to foreign buyers.It has been very difficult to put in place a full time effective measure to stem the tide.As things stand we are still looking for experts to come up with a solution from countries like Israel,USA,UK,Belgium etc to come forward with the technology to fight this menace.<br />
The maps below show the pipeline distribution .Products are pumped from the refineries in Port-Harcourt ,Warri,and Kaduna to many Fuel depots as shown in the map.<br />
Nigeria needs help and urgently too.<br />

authorities always and i mean always respond in a matter of minutes. 
Nigeria needs a transparent source of leadership in all parts of the 
armwd forces and police. Reformation of the police should be taken 
seriously; firstly give them a living wage and free education to their 
children and healthcare, secondly anyone caught collecting bribe should 
get administrative disciplinary action to set example. Thirdly, they 
should have competency exams frequently on security matters and lastly 
the federal government should allocate funds each fiscal year to provide
 them with adequate equipments to perform their job functions accurately

Hollywood might have us believe. Some vaults are so secure that robbers 
have heart attacks even thinking about breaking in.<br />

With that in mind, check out these <b>15 Most Impenetrable Bank Vaults</b>
 from recent history and see to what extremes countries (and some 
private companies) will go to keep the deposits and valuables of their 
clientele absolutely protected.<br />

If Britain’s Prime Minister had a secret, he would want to keep it 
here. More than 4,600 tons of gold are safeguarded in what is the UK’s 
largest gold vault. A figure that’s second only to the Federal Reserve 
Vault mentioned above.<br />

The vault walls are bombproof and so sturdy that bank staff used them
 for protection during WWII air raids. And when the vault doors do need 
to be opened, they can only be accessed by an elaborate system 
consisting of voice recognition, 3 foot keys and other unpublished

4. The London Silver Vaults</h3>

In 1957, the same type of vault used in the London Silver Vaults was 
used as part of U.S. nuclear testing in Nevada. The 37-kiloton nuke tore

During WWII the bank around the vault was reduced to rubble due to a 
bomb strike, but the vault itself was undamaged. The vault itself is the
 very definition of the world “impenetrable.”<br />

Dubai, known as the City of Gold, finished building a vault to hold 
all that metal in 2009. The vault is located in the Dubai Multi 
Commodities Center and incorporates the latest and greatest in security 
measures. Dubai is in the process of repatriating their gold from London
 now that they have one of the most secure facilities in the world.<br />

What makes the vault holding Iran’s gold reserve impenetrable is that
 nobody can say for sure where it is. One could assume the vault is 
either in the Imperial Treasury location or the Iran Central Bank, but 
you know what they say about assumptions. Iran secretly flew gold into 
the country from Europe in order to dodge “financial pressure” from the 
US and UK. Now that the reserves are back within Iranian borders, the 
location of their holding vault is as elusive as Iraq’s WMDs.<br />

The Antwerp Diamond Center was swindled of $100 Million worth of 
inventory when a team of Italian thieves beat their “impregnable” 
defenses in February, 2003. The thieves got past body heat detectors, 
Doppler radars, magnetic fields, motion detectors and an incredibly 
advanced locking system. The police still can’t figure out how the team 
did it.<br />

into gold to hedge against inflation. This spells opportunity for 
JPMorgan Chase, who swung open an underground vault in Manhattan. If 
that back of the vault door doesn’t intimidate you, the scowl on that 
man’s face should.<br />

Reserve. Ohio isn’t the picture I get in my head when I think ‘bank 
heist.’ And for the record, the vault door weighs 91 tons… the 
equivalent of two humpback whales.<br />

12. Codename: Priscilla Bank Vault – Atomic Bomb-Proof Vault #2!</h3>
This picture captures the aftermath of atomic bomb testing under the 
codename Priscilla that occurred in June, 1957 in the Nevada desert. 
What you don’t see in the picture is the bank vault that withstood the 
blast… another Mosler engineered vault. The 37-kiloton triggered blast 
did <i>this</i> to concrete and steel, but left the (unbreakable?) vault intact.<br />

13. The Broker Restaurant Antique Bank Vault in Denver, CO.</h3>

The Broker Restaurant (Denver, Colorado) may be the safest restaurant
 in the country. In 1903 the building was the Denver National Bank. 
Today the building serves exquisitely prepared dishes in the very room 
where countless millions were counted and deposited back into safety

14. The Dominion Bank Vault</h3>
At it’s heyday in 1914, the Dominion Bank Building in Toronto, Canada
 was considered the most secure bank vault in the entire world. Because 
it was constructed on bedrock and wrapped by surveillance passages, 
tunneling into it was a practical impossibility. Maybe an Ocean’s 12 
style infiltration would work… but let’s not forget the 40-ton vault 
door. The door was so airtight that a single hairpin would keep it from 
closing. Good luck cracking this vault.<br />

15. The Hard Rock Vault</h3>
The Hard Rock Vault, first opened in 2001, is guardian to hundreds of
 priceless musical treasures from Jimmy Hendrix’s Flying V to John 
Lennon’s handwritten lyrics for “Instant Karma.” It’s situated below 
Hard Rock Cafe London in what used to be Coutts Bank. In terms of 
security, the vault once held the Queen’s treasury before Coutts Bank 
was converted.<br />

                It was an inside job.  Plain and simple.  The diamond trade is one of the world’s biggest organized crime enterprises, anyway.<br />

To break into it would have required inside knowledge of how to 
disarm the system.  If the police can’t figure that out, then they 
should all be fired.  Very likely, the police were paid off to act dumb 
and unable to investigate the obvious.<br />

                The foregoing security measures illustrated 
demonstate the price and penalties we pay for dishonesty. 
Notwithstanding we were given 10 simple, but priceless rules by the 
highest authority of the universe as a perfect guide.  The energies 
expended via disobedience to said rules inevitably will become exhausted
 as the Omnipotent Creator of the universe completely re-places mammon’s
 authority with His own. Those who choose to treasure and abide by the 
100% (fine) golden rules will never tire of experiencing an eternity of 
price-less treasures where vaults are non existent.<br />

                The other side of that coin is NOT knowing if you can
 retrive your valuables when you want or need them. If you have gold of 
 silver stored at JP Morgan’s vault, it may be safe, but you may still 
never see it again. If the US Government decided precious metals were a 
strategic commodity, it could just issue a derictive telling the world 
that JP Morgan would not return physical metal but would buy it at a 
price set by the Federal Reserve, maybe $1,200 for gold and $25 for 
silver.<br />

                All that security at Fort Knox… and we don’t even 
know how much gold is allegedly stored there… they say we should have 
about 8100 metric tons to the credit of our country.  We don’t know how 
many of the bars alleged to be stored there actually pure gold and not 
gold-plated tungsten bars.<br />

Before anyone flames this comment, I suggest you do some research.  
Because, if the Federal Reserve system has done what I have reason to 
believe they have done, we Americans are about to make a terrible 
discovery.<br />

Note that there has not been a physical audit of the gold allegedly 
stored there since 1953.  And given our government’s financial and 
economic shenanigans over the past years, no one can say for sure what’s
 so.<br />

                No doubt, there is gold at Ft. Knox, but how much (as
 noted, no audit since Eisenhower was president) and who owns it are 
valid questions.  While Americans talk about “our gold” at Ft. Knox, 
foreign financial publications talk about “the Federal Reserve’s gold.”<br />

                The gold stored in a vault below the Twin towers survived and was removed after<br />
by Brinks Trucks.The vault was driven down below third level below ground and survived<br />
with all its contents.<br />

Speaking off vaults, I had access to many vaults over the past thirty plus years and know<br />
very well how difficult it is to get in these vaults. I once tried to spin the combination open<br />
just before opening time in the bank and the outside part came off and 
left me vulnerable.It took five hours of drilling direct into the 
combination area to gain access.It is the alarms were not turned off,the
 police could have easily reached there within that time.The strength of
 not gaining access is not through the door but someplace else.<br />

                It would have been interesting to include the Iron 
Mountain facility in Pennsylvania, where they store priceless files, 
documents, and artifacts for the government and other big clients deep 
underground in an old mine.<br />

                Traditional cranks will tell you that there is no 
gold in Fort Knox. Modern cranks know that the US is now just a 
custodian for what was once our national treasure, and that Frau Merkel

                I’m certain there’s gold at Ft. Knox; what I’m concerned about is just how much is there and who has legal title to it.<br />

Richard quips that Frau Merkel (Angela Merkel, the current Chancellor
 of Germany) has it audited on a regular basis.  I doubt Germany has 
title to it.  Legally, it’s probably owned by the Federal Reserve.<br />

                The picture you have for the Hard Rock Vault is not 
of the vault you speak of in London. It is, in fact, a crappy tourist 
attraction on International Drive, Orlando, Florida. It was recently 
closed due to lack of business. Next time, check your sources for

                The last public viewing was in 1974. If there is 
still gold in Fort Knox, this would belong to the American public. Why 
has there been no public Audit since 1974?  We as Americans have the 
right to know whether there is any gold in Fort Knox.<br />

                I remember the 1974 (or so) “viewing” of the gold at 
Ft. Knox.  It came at a time when there were lots claims that “There’s 
no gold in Ft. Knox.”  Then US Congressman John Conlon from Arizona was 
one who “saw the gold.”  However, there was no audit.  It was a “walk 
through.”<br />

Supposedly, there is a regular “internal” audit of the gold at Ft. 
Knox and the gold in the vaults of the NY Fed.  Not only is there the 
question of how much gold is in Ft. Knox/NY Fed vaults, but there the 
issue as to who owns it:  The US Treasury or the Federal Reserve?<br />

                I am very concerned about the future of our country. 
The Social Security trust fund has been robbed of more than 4 trillion 
dollars used for other purposes than what it was intended for. This has 
been a big piggy bank for the government to steal our money.Fort Knox if
 their is gold in the vault who does it actually belong to? I am tired 
of the government thinking they know what is best for Americans. There 
are just too many secrets all in the name of national security more like
 in the name of national secerecy. It was stated that at the New York 
Federal Reserve 98% of the gold in the vault does not belong to our 
country. We have a debt of over 15 trillion dollars is there anything 
that we as americans actually own other than the currency we print that 
is not worth the paper it is printed on?<br />

                You forgot the legendary Sierra Madre Casino Vault, 
with only two people going in there, and with one being trapped in 
there. It was meant for a stronghold for two lovers in the event of an 
atomic war.<br />

                Perth mint in western Australia should be in the top 
10 it holds the largest amount of gold on earth and has the largest gold
 coin in the world and you also have to get into the first Mosler vault 
to get into the main vault<br />

                I visited the NY Federal Reserve gold vaults in 
spring 1983 as part of a tour. Close enough to touch it were it not for 
the tight weave of the the steel mesh screen inside the thick steel 
bars.  The 89-ton door had to be raised ~2” before rotating 90 degrees 
in order to allow a through-passage.  In the picture shown, you can see 
the curved edges on the floor at the front and rear.  Once closed, you’d
 have to penetrate 2 VERY thick steel walls.  And you’ll still have to 
schlep all that gold OUT!<br />

                The NYFed has me stumped. I visited recently on a 
tour. Minimal security on entry, one tour guide escort down to the vault
 level for 25 visitors. Half of the group was sent down to the entrance 
unescorted, and asked to wait in the lobby for the second group to come 
in another elevator with the guide<br />

The vault was wide open, and is left that way all day apparently, and
 the entire group was able to enter, and even try to touch the gold by 
pushing finger through the gratings. The door into the gold storage 
room, just bars, was locked with a small everyday padlock and two other 
locks. The individual storage “cells” for the gold had combination 
locks, however were just steel barred doors.<br />

Entry to the vault area was past a small office area, with a few 
older office people at desks. There were no robots, just manual scales 
used for weighing, and electric pallet jacks for lifting. From the 
street to the gold, was a single unsecured glass door, an elevator, a 
vault level door with a swipe card access, and then the steel doors 
through to what was described as billions of gold bullion.<br />

Only 3 security guards were passed, all with small caliber handguns. 
Makes me think that this is not what it seems, and either a fake vault, 
or a location no longer carrying real gold, just gold painted bars.<br />

                These vaults are incredible. The technology they have
 today is amazing, but nothing works better than steel and multiple 
levels of security. What about the vaults that hold cash at casinos in 
Las Vegas? Do they have vaults that are comparable to these? Maybe not 
because they wouldn’t be holding nearly as much gold, cash and 
valuables.<br />
