Fast forward to August 2015,when an ISIS Cleric in Lebanon,Ahmed Al Assir was arrested by Lebanese authorities as he attempted to fly out of the country to Nigeria on a forged passport.Two men connected to Al Assir,who he was coming to visit in Nigeria were arrested in Kano,Nigeria and handed over to the National Security Adviser,General Babagana Monguno{rtd}.
It is instructive to note that there have been many other cases of arrests of suspected terrorists in Nigeria with their accomplices for which no tangible action have been boldly taken in their prosecution.The general belief of our countrymen is that Nigeria has become a veritable ground for nurturing terrorists especially in the Northern part of the country.Terrorists cells are very much alive and rearing to unleash deadly attacks but who will bell the cat.The earlier something is done to dismantle these cells, the better.We must not continue to be known for the wrong reasons,drugs,419 scam,money laundering ,and now this.
