IPOB DENIES ARMING ITS SECURITY OFFICIALS.COL UMAR WARNS BUHARI.

The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra have stated emphatically that they are neither an armed outfit nor a group that has any intention of using arms in the pursuit of its legitimate demands for Self Determination for the people of Biafra.This was stated yesterday in Enugu by an official of the IPOB after its leader,Nnamdi Kanu  met with Governors of the South East in Enugu. The meeting was called to rub minds with the IPOB Leader to seek common grounds for cooperation with the governments of the Zone.The communiqué issued at the meeting stated that more meetings are to be held with the group as a continued dialogue to lesson tension.Also in attendance at the meeting was Professor Ben Nwabueze,a renowned constitutional lawyer who was in the IPOB contingent.
  Meanwhile, Col Abubakar Umar ,a former Governor of Kaduna State and a staunch Babangida loyalist has warned President Buhari not to re- arrest Nnamdi Kanu  in order not to set the country ablaze.Some well meaning Nigerians have recalled how the high handedness on the part of government led to the radicalization of the Boko Haram sect which the government is still battling for over 5 years with attendant losses in men and materials running into several billion naira.
The question on many lips from interviews held is whether the IPOB Boys will continue to pursue their objectives by peaceful demonstrations if their leader is arrested a second time.The situation is being closely watched.
