Anarchy is defined by the Webster dictionary as "a situation of confusion and wild
behaviour in which the people in a country, group, organization, etc are not controlled
by rules of law"It went further to describe it as absence of governmental authority.
While doing a post graduate program at the University of Jos,Nigeria two decades
ago,my political science lecturer was fond of quoting Paul Karl Feyerabend on
Scientific Anarchism.Feyerabend postulated that in order for science to progress
there are no universal methodical rules.
This quote from him remains ever fresh in my memory,"Science is essentially an
anarchistic enterprise.Scientific anarchism is more beneficial and more likely
to advance progress in society than its law and order alternative"

NIGERIA AND ANARCHY.
From the background above,we can deduce that starting from the assumption
of ignorance, the field is wide open for new discoveries to be made.Isaac Newton was
the father of classical physics and the law of motion where he propounded the theory
of action and reaction being equal and opposite. This law was of universal application
and became an established rule of physics until Albert Einstein came with his theory
of Relativity, the famous E=mc2.It was for having a different approach that Einstein
was able to prove that Newton"s classical concept had its limitations.
Anarchy is good for scientific progress but absolutely not good for Law and
Order. For anarchy not to hold sway in a polity Rule of Law must be the guiding
principle that leads the way.

ISSUES AND BEHAVIOR THAT BREED ANARCHY .
1.Injustice:failure to treat all citizens as equals
2.Nepotism:Granting of favour,appointments to close relatives,friends and
   members of ones ethnic group.
3.Alienation:Categorization of citizens as hewers of wood and drawers of water
and some others to do less and get more from the system.
4.Falsification of official records, ineffective electoral umpire, absurd census figures
5.Lopsided appointments or "hate actions" that are worse than "hate speech".
6.Total neglect of certain areas in the citing of infrastructure that propel development.
7.Neglect of youths by unemployment.Idle youths become workshop for the devil.

NIGERIA"s FUTURE NOW IN THE HAND OF THE YOUTH .
In the last 20 months or so,the youths of Nigeria have become so vocal,so much so
that the elders cannot but listen to them,Some have issued ultimatums, some others
are campaigning for separation.Nigeria can never remain the same again with this new
turn of events.Responsible leadership will have to address myriads of issues raised
by these young people or may also decide to ignore the prevailing charged atmosphere.
The choice is theirs.Someone told me just yesterday that African Leaders gauge their
acceptability in governance by taking the pulse of aliens and not those they govern.
A stitch in time saves nine.
