That there has been a recent massive deployment of  more police and military
personnel to the South East and South South geopolitcal zones in Nigeria is no longer
news.Rumours have been flying around that the storming of the two zones has to do
with the plan to re-arrest the IPOB leader in the person of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.It is
said that security forces have vowed never to allow him escape when the order to
effect his arrest is finally issued. The Police have refused to confirm this but stated that
the new deployments was to further enhance security in the two zones.
On its part the IPOB leader has dared them to arrest him.He warned that Nigeria will
burn if they do.A former Aviation Minister,Femi Fani Kayode,a well known critic of
the Govrrnment has cautioned against opening another theatre of conflict since we
still have Boko Haram to contend with.Since Nnamdi Kanu is not backing down soon
in his quest to pursue the realization of Biafra, and the government is set to crack down on
him and his group,it appears most likely that the days ahead would be action packed
as the uneasy calm that is prevailing in the two zones more especially in the South East
would most probably be shattered.
A meeting held recently in Enugu between the IPOB and South East Governors did not achieve much
in persuading Kanu to drop his agitation.Kanu set up what he called a Biafra Security Service which
angered the Nigerian Govenment and many are calling for his head{see photo above}.As the battle of wits rages on people are watching on who will blink first. This is a real security situation that must be deftly handled by all concerned.
