In continuation of our series on crime and criminal gangs in Nigeria,we shall be
looking at some of the characters in the underworld that have put Nigeria on the
world map of drug crime and advance fee fraud known as 419 worldwide.
.THE ANAJEMBA CONNECTION.
This name rings a bell wherever it is mentioned in the underworld of crime.
We must not fail to mention that there are more than 3722 Anajembas in Nigeria
and in many other countries of the world.Most of the Anajembas are not into
the business of crime and may not be related to the Anajembas under our
searchlight and discussion.
A notorious Anajemba named Ikechukwu Anajemba aka Rasheed Gomwalk posed as Governor of
the Central Bank of Nigeria, persuaded a Brazillian Bank employee to invest
in bogus construction projects in Nigeria.He and his partners in crime
collected the sum of $242 million from the victim.Ikechukwu Anajemba
died in a motor accident in 2005.His wife Amaka Martina Anajemba is also
known as Queen of 419 in the whole wide world.We shall x-ray her further in a later
post.Let us look now at another Anajemba.
ANAJEMBA,UZO JOHNSON.
The Australian drug enforcement officers arrested Uzo for having received
a parcel by post with 197g of heroin smuggled into the country.Evidence was
adduced of several other parcels of heroin weighing over 5kg that were brouht
into Australia by post.This Anajemba was 35 when he was arrested in 2011.
ANAJEMBA CHUKWUNONSO LAWRENCE
In October 2015,a Thai woman was arrested for being in possession of 12kg of
crystal meth.The drugs were hidden inside 58 pairs of shoes.Her boy friend,another Anajemba
fled beforen the Police arrived.The woman Udon Thai met her boy friend on facebook
