IPOB DENIES ARMING ITS SECURITY OFFICIALS.COL UMAR WARNS BUHARI.

The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra have stated emphatically that they are neither an armed outfit nor a group that has any intention of using arms in the pursuit of its legitimate demands for Self Determination for the people of Biafra.This was stated yesterday in Enugu by an official of the IPOB after its leader,Nnamdi Kanu  met with Governors of the South East in Enugu. The meeting was called to rub minds with the IPOB Leader to seek common grounds for cooperation with the governments of the Zone.The communiqué issued at the meeting stated that more meetings are to be held with the group as a continued dialogue to lesson tension.Also in attendance at the meeting was Professor Ben Nwabueze,a renowned constitutional lawyer who was in the IPOB contingent.<br />   Meanwhile, Col Abubakar Umar ,a former Governor of Kaduna State and a staunch Babangida loyalist has warned President Buhari not to re- arrest Nnamdi Kanu  in order not to set the country ablaze.Some well meaning Nigerians have recalled how the high handedness on the part of government led to the radicalization of the Boko Haram sect which the government is still battling for over 5 years with attendant losses in men and materials running into several billion naira.<br /> The question on many lips from interviews held is whether the IPOB Boys will continue to pursue their objectives by peaceful demonstrations if their leader is arrested a second time.The situation is being closely watched.<br /> <br />

BISHOP OF OZUBULU,DEATH IN CHURCH,DRUGS AND SOUTH AFRICAN CONNECTION

 A couple of weeks ago,the world was jolted by the gangster style killing of 13 worshippers at the Saint Philip's Church ,Amukwa ,Ozubulu.At the centre of the controversy surrounding the crime was one High Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu alias Ebubechukwuzo.On the very day the killings took place,The Anambra State Governor and the Commissioner of Police of the State visited the scene of crime where the Governor emphatically pronounced that the crime was committed by some folks from the town who had misunderstandings over some business transactions in South Africa.The Police was alleged to have been of the same view.<br />   Now tongues are wagging. The said Bishop has been in<br /> Ozubulu for 2 good weeks and his arrest had not been effected.The social media was awash with innuendos and conjectures linking the said Bishop with drug running and mafia style executions in South Africa.Some others alleged that terrorist herdsmen from God knows where were responsible. Bishop has granted series of interviews from his home in Ozubulu and moves around as a free man.People are raising eyebrows. It would be interesting to take a peep into the interim or final police report on the matter.<br /> We demand that the Governor must as the Chief Security Officer of Anambra State come out clean and hold a press conference stating in clear details the conclusive result of the investigation. He must bear in mind that he will be going to the polls in November to ask the people to retain him for another term.<br /> We on this platform are watching closely.We also hope that nobody is hiding the truth from the people. What language did the hit men speak while carrying out the executions.Were they elements from some notorious itinerant killers?Does the killing have a religious undertone?Is there a grand design to cow the people in Anambra and by extension the people of the zone?These questions and more must be answered and fast too in order to lay this matter to rest.We shall have an update soon on the same matter.

ATTORNEY GENERAL OF NIGERIA MALAMI SPEAKS ON NORTHERN YOUTHS

The Attorney General of Nigeria and Minister of Justice has reacted to the recent Arewa quit<br /> notice issued to Igbo living in the northern part of Nigeria.Yesterday we on this forum had<br /> posted that the AG was expected to make a statement on this.We were right in our expectation.<br /> Abubakar Malami said that the federal government could not arrest the people behind the quit notice<br /> for fear of a backlash if they were arrested.He refeered to what he called security implications.<br /> The security implications were not disclosed.<br /> There is no doubt that the IPOB will definitely react to this latest development in the days ahead<br /> bearing in mind that the same AG had called for the rearrest of Nnamdi Kanu,the head of The<br /> Indigenous Peoples of Biafra.We shall keep all our readers posted on developments as regards this and other<br /> security implications of the situation.

DEARTH OF CCTV CAMERAS IN NIGERIA.UNTAPPED AREA FOR INVESTMENT IN NIGERIA

Nigeria appears to be jinxed when it comes to the provision of security cameras in our cities.In the Federal Capital City of Abuja the Chinese were awarded a contract worth several million dollars a few years ago. The project became a monumental failure due to corruption and other factors.Most of the installed cameras and their accessories have been vandalised. The story is no better in our former capital of Lagos.The police are hamstrung in apprehending criminals and checking the excesses of drivers who drive like they are are on a suicide mission.<br />   It would not be a bad idea to have foreign companies who are reputable and can deliver  functional TV monitors in major cities like Abuja,Lagos,Port Harcourt, Kaduna ,Enugu,Kano,Ibadan,Maiduguri (the hot bed of Boko  Haram terrorists),Aba,Onitsha,Benin and about 10 other major cities in Nigeria.<br />    We are looking at interested companies that can set these up,operate them and recoup their investments within 24 months with mind boggling profits. Any company that can show some level of seriousness by investing initially to get a working system can be rest assured of reaping tremendous benefits. The case of Julius Berger,a civil engineering firm from Germany is a case in point.JB came to Nigeria as an obscure company many years ago and is now a Giant in the West African sub region.<br />    As a Police Chief in Kwara State of Nigeria, we did a pilot project on this with the Governor then Bukola Saraki,who is the current Senate President of Nigeria. He is a gentleman who will welcome such investors to this country.<br />     Responses from interested Companies are welcome.

COUNTDOWN TO NNAMDI KANU"S ARREST AND THE UN WARNING

The countdown to the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu began soon after the AG of the<br /> Federation had asked the Courts to revoke his bail.Many are in support and<br /> many others are crying foul.Meanwhile The United Nations has called for the<br /> arrest and prosecution of all the characters who gave the Igbo quit notice in<br /> the North of Nigeria.<br /> People are watching closely to see how the re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu and the<br /> arrest and prosecution of the so called Northern Youths will be effected.<br /> It is being speculated that the same AG may likely make an official statement<br /> on the activities of the hate mongers calling for genocide of the Igbo with a hate<br /> song titled "nyamiri" their derogatory name for the Igbos.<br /> The political atmosphere in Nigeria is charged and there is an urgent need to<br /> douse it before an unforseen event ignites things up,and a snowballing into<br /> unimaginable crisis ensues.We pray not.

<u>A PEEP INTO THE FUTURE OF A NATION</u>.<br /> <br /> Nigerians did not observe the solar eclipse of last Sunday.The CNN<br /> gave the world a running commentary of the event from its commencement<br /> in Oregon to its finale in Southern Carolina.Even as Nigeria did not observe<br /> the eclipse,another eclipse that will crisscross Nigeria and of a different hue<br /> is in the making.It is a political eclipse of free speech as seen by many democrats in<br /> Nigeria.It may or may not be as bad as the turn of events portray.Check this out.<br />      From henceforth in Nigeria the following areas are sacred and are no go areas.<br /> <br /> 1. Call for Self Determination by any Persons or Groups.<br /> 2.Any speech adjudged by the authorities to be a hate speech.<br /> 3.Any article or post on Social Media that are offensive to Government.<br /> 4.Any Group that decides to wear uniforms as a quasi security outfit.<br /> <br /> These are some of the areas covered and the idea has been muted to ban the<br /> explosive use of the Social Media in the country.<br />       Tongues are wagging and people are asking when this eclipse would pass<br /> the Nigerian Space into the vacous space of the Cosmos that is infinite.<br /> Clamp downs like this tend to clog the wheel that drives democratic tenets.<br /> Let all ideas be allowed to flow freely in cyberspace.Suppresing freedom of<br /> expression may very well radicalize many groups and affect the management<br /> of the attendant volatile security issues that may surface.<br />    Let all opinions flow minus hate speech and let the government distill them<br /> and use the filtered genuine expressions of the people to set agendas for good<br /> governance,Do not kill free speech in Nigeria.Contrary views are welcome.

AKATAKA---THE BIAFRAN WITH A NIGERIAN HEART AND THE DISPOSITION OF AN AMERICAN

<u>THE DILEMA OF  A CONFUSED COUNTRYMAN</u><br /> <br /> Akataka is a confused citizen.He still finds it difficult to place his<br /> identity in Nigeria.He was born fifteen years before the civil war in<br /> Nigeria.As a young man he witnessed the destruction and carnage that the <br /> war brought in the territory named Biafra.He suffered so much deprivation.<br /> Hunger and disease were his close companions as the war raged on.He thanked<br /> Providence when hostilities ceased as the Biafrans capitulated.The human tragedy<br /> that was the war was declared over.Life returned to normalcy and he was able to<br /> go back to High School in 1970.<br />     By 1973, Akataka left for the United States.He gained admission to study<br /> Physics at the prestigious MIT in Boston.He graduated magna cum laude and later<br /> made it summa cum laude in nuclear physics from the same university.<br />      He visited home on a regular basis even though he worked for a jet propulsion<br /> laboratory and at a nuclear power complex somewhere in the Nevada Desert.The visits<br /> stopped in 2009 when he got fed up with conditions at home,especially the desire of many<br /> young people from his area to flee abroad in search of greener pastures.He felt that the country had<br /> failed the youth but still believed the situation could be remedied with some tinkering of the prevailing political structure and great leadership.To his chagrin this was not to be.He decided<br /> to place the issues of Nigeria in the dark recesses of his brain.This attitude of living in denial was<br /> not to last for too long because of the activities of a young upstart named Nnamdi who was running<br /> a kind of pirate radio from the UK.He was amazed at the one they called a rabble rouser who was<br /> bombarding the airwaves with facts and figures on Nigeria.Some of the messages were mere  propaganda,some were laced with innuendos and seeming hatred towards some individuals and ethnic groups in Nigeria.The language used for the broadcasts were mostly uncouth but he was hit by some of the home truths therein.He had been sucked in but yet maintained a level head as a rational<br /> and analytical scientist.He felt that Nnamdi had gone too far,that Biafra in Nigeria was a better option<br /> than separation.He believed in the restructuring of the Polity for a better Nigeria.He received a rude shock when many respected individula in the country vowed never to let that materialize.<br />       Akataka is now in Nigeria on a visit.He is so much in love with the diversity and the blend <br /> of multi ethnic groups in the country.He was in his community yesterday.He tried to address some IPOB youths on the need to tread with caution and  was nearly stoned.He is confused now and<br /> on his way to New York enroute Lagos.His mind is running riot.He does not know on what side of the divide he should belong as the National Assembly says no to restructuring.He sought my advice.<br /> Who can assist me advise him?

<u>THE REPUBLIC OF ZIBANDA BOILS AGAIN.</u><br /> <br /> In the Republic of Zibanda,it is now one week,one scandal.Now hear this.<br /> The President,Ototo Muwanga has a new bride.A sixteen year old young maiden.<br /> She was given away by her poor parents to the President as wife number four.<br /> Young Ananta is already pregnant for Muwanga.Elders and youths<br /> from Akrika tribe,where Ananta hails from are furious.They have been staging demonstrations on a<br /> daily basis against the never- do- well President.The economy of Zibanda is in ruins and this incident<br /> has become a smokescreen and the pivot to stand on to pull the government down.<br />      Tongues are wagging in Zibanda,On his part President Muwanga is about to deploy troops<br /> to Akrika to teach the people there a lesson.Elders from other ethinic groups are calling for caution<br /> and restraint but the President is adamant.To worsen thigns up,the Secret Police of Zibanda intercepted<br />  SMS messages between Otaki,a boy friend to the President"s wife and Ananta.In one of the messages<br /> she confided in her young lover that she was planning to poison the president.She also sent nude photographs of the President and Commander in Chief to Otaki.Undercover Agents are after him.He<br /> has been tipped off already and on the run.The fear is that he might post the stuff on facebook and elsewhere.Advice the President bearing in mind the security implications.

President Buhari is back from medical leave abroad.He stayed away in London<br /> for over 100 days treating an undisclosed ailment.It took him just two days after<br /> touching down at Abuja Airport to declare war on Biafran agitators for Self Rule.<br /> The IPOB an acronym for the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra.The IPOB has been<br /> a non violent group,but the fear now is that th group may become radicalized if<br /> and when the clamp down begins.Nigeria meanwhile has Boko Haram terrorists<br /> to contend with.On a daily basis the Boko Haram group has been wasting lives<br /> in the North East of Nigeria.Opening another zone of terror may be too much<br /> for the Nigerian Government to contain.<br />        The days ahead are ominous.All fingers are crossed.
