CRIME,MAFIA,DRUGS AND BARONS IN NIGERIA AND OVERSEAS

Organized crime in Nigeria has spread its tentacles to many countries of the world.
They are very visible in countries like South Africa,UK,Spain,Italy,The Netherlands,USA,India
and Japan.
     In a series of posts to follow we shall be looking at organized Crime in Nigeria.It appears as
if drug trafficking tops the list of these criminal activities but there are many rackets that Nigerians
are notorious for such as 419 scams,weapon trafficking,Prostitution,Extortion,illegal diamond smuggling,Robbery,Fraud,Money laundering,Human trafficking and Kidnapping.
Nigerian criminal gangs are closely associated with other notorious international criminal gangs
like the Sicilian Mafia also known as the Italian Mafia,the Yakuza of Japan,a dreaded an deadly
gang of criminals.The third deadly gang that Nigerian criminals signed agreements of co=operation
with is the notorious Hard Livings Gang of South Africa.This gang is also into drug trafficking,extortion,illegal diamond smuggling,money laundering,Kidnapping,Human Trafficking,
Contract Killing.
      DRUG TRAFFICKING
Nigerian criminal gangs are heavily involved in drug trafficking.They ship heroin from Asian
countries to Europe and America and cocain from South America to Europe and South Africa.
In the United States  Nigerian drug traffickers are involved in the distribution of heroin by importing
it into the country down to the distribution to low level street gangs.
Nigerian organized crime members are respected within the inner circles of other criminal enterprises in 80 countries of the world.This is no joke.

      THE DRUG  RING OR NETWORK.A FAMILY AFFAIR.
Nigerian drug trafficking groups are closely knit and are bonded mostly in family units.
This usually makes it difficult to penetrate them by security agencies.Some of the traffickers
were groomed from secondary school to learn the intricacies of the trade especially the international
wing of it.By the time they are in their twenties they would have become masters of the game.
In Nigeria,a couple weeks back an alleged drug war that started in South Africa led to the massacre
of 13 worshippers at Saint Philip"s Catholic Church,Ozubulu near Onitsha,South East Nigeria.
