There has been an increase in demonstrations by pro Biafra groups in the South East of late.In Aba yesterday 9th Nov,2015,there was traffic gridlock as a result of such protest. The Police are been called
out to maintain law and order.Generally the protests have been peaceful, and the Police have behaved
maturely. What are the implications of defying the orders of top security officers for a stop of such protests.
It is strange that youths who were born after the civil war are the arrowheads for the sudden upsurge in the
protest.
Opinions are divided on how best to handle these uprisings. Some opine that the full weight of the law should
be brought to bear while others are of the view that the Government should negotiate with them. Some have gone as far as accusing Britain of forcefully bringing peoples of diverse ethnic groups together without the
various units being consulted..
It is hoped that a solution that is equitable is arrived at soon.
