BOKO HARAM ON THE ONSLAUGHT.IS THIS TRUE?

“Aside the 105 soldiers killed by Boko Haram, additional 34 soldiers were killed two days ago but it wasn’t in the news”– Deji Adeyanju.<br /><br />I concur with Mr. Deji Adeyanju. The most heartless and reprehensible thing that our government could have done is to cover-up the fact that 105 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram a few days ago. To do such a thing is simply evil.<br /><br />A soldier ought to be honoured in death and this is especially so if he died in the course of doing his duty and fighting for his nation.<br /><br />The government has not only dishonoured them by not acknowledging their sacrifice but they have also buried them in the wilderness like rabid dogs.<br /><br />This is wickedness of the highest order and President Buhari, his Chief of Army Staff and his Minister of Defence should bury their heads in shame.<br /><br />Anyone that buys the lie and propaganda that the 105 soldiers never died and that they are still alive is a compound fool or a village idiot.<br /><br />Will the military also deny the fact that a few days ago 34 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram? These boys died for their country. Why deny them?<br /><br />I am outraged by the fact that a soldier will sacrifice his life for his country yet the citizens and authorities of that country don’t even appreciate it.<br /><br />Pictures of the dead bodies were posted on social media. Everyone in the military knows that those soldiers are dead. It is an open secret. Yet because government denies it so many people just choose to believe them.<br /><br />The truth is that Boko Haram must have used chemical weapons in the attack. When you look at the pictures of the dead bodies this is obvious. It was probably mustard gas.<br /><br />All we want from the military is the truth. If 105 soldiers were not killed then how many actually were?<br /><br />The whole episode happened last week in Borno State and the military authorities are denying it. I am sickened by that.<br /><br />If others cannot appreciate the importance of honouring our dead soldiers, I can. I will not be intimidated and I will not remain silent.<br /><br />Tell us where our boys are buried and if you refuse to do so we will keep asking. There must be accountability and respect for those who have made the supreme sacrifice just to keep the rest of us safe. Our soldiers deserve that much.<br /><br />Finally, let it be said loud and clear that since President Buhari came to power he has not bought one bullet for the military. Considering the fact that we are in the middle of a protracted and very bloody war I believe that this is utterly shameful. If you say you want to fight and defeat Boko Haram then why are you not buying arms for your troops?<br /><br />This brings me to other matters and raises other questions about our President’s sincerity of purpose and commitment.<br /><br />You say that you are fighting Boko Haram yet you are travelling the world drinking tea with world leaders whilst your soldiers are secretly being slaughtered.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet you were nominated as their spokesman and chief negotiator two years ago in a proposed peace talks with the Federal Government.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram but the man you appointed as your National Security Adviser was retired from the army a few years ago for ordering the release of Boko Haram terrorists under suspicious circumstances.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram but the first thing you did when you came to power was to remove military checkpoints. This guaranteed Boko Haram free movement and access to the entire country.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet last year you told the world that an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North.<br /><br />You say you are fighting terror yet since you came to power Boko Haram has grown in strength, has regained lost territory and has been declared the “worlds number one most deadly terror group” by the Global Terror Index.<br /><br />You say you are fighting terror yet since you came to power Nigeria, according to the Global Terror Index, has been declared as not just having “the first most deadly terror group in the world” which is Boko Haram but also of having “the fourth most deadly terror group in the world” which is a group that the Index describe as the “Fulani militants” and that we call the Fulani herdsmen.<br /><br />You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet since you came to power Nigeria has been declared the world’s “third most terrorised country” by the Global Terror Index after Iraq and Afghanistan which were declared first and second respectively, whilst Syria and Pakistan were declared fourth and fifth.<br /><br />You say you are a “born again democrat” yet you voted against the protection of human rights at the United Nations alongside Iran, Zimbabwe and North Korea.<br /><br />You say you respect human rights yet you barricade Colonel Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser, in his home, endanger his life, deny him medical attention, flout court orders and make him critically ill.<br /><br />You say you respect human rights yet you arrest Governor Boni Haruna simply for standing as surety for Dasuki and you try to force him to abandon his friend.<br /><br />You say you respect human rights yet you raid Governor Attahiru Bafarawa’s home and arrest and detain his son simply because he is friends with Dasuki.<br /><br />You say you respect freedom of speech and human rights yet you lock up Nnamdi Kanu indefinitely and your security agents shoot two unarmed and harmless pro-Biafra youths to death in Enugu simply because they were involved in a peaceful demonstration.<br /><br />You say that you are a believer in the rule of law yet you ordered your secret police to storm a sitting governor’s official home in Akwa Ibom knowing that he enjoys immunity from such matters.<br /><br />You say you love Nigeria yet a bomb goes off in Kano killing over 21 people and instead of coming back home to mourn with your people you continue junketing around the world.<br /><br />You say you know how to run Nigeria but according to Paul Wallace and Michael Cohen of the United States magazine known as Bloomberg Business your “bounce has become bust”, your “policies irk investors”, you have “destroyed Nigeria’s economy” and you “do not have the capacity to move the country forward”.<br /><br />You say that you know how to manage the economy yet stocks and shares have crashed, small businesses are folding up, our foreign currency has dried up, industries are collapsing, agricultural output has decreased, our foreign reserves have been spent and the value of the naira has depreciated since you came to power and it continues to fall.<br /><br />You say you know what you are doing and how to manage Nigeria’s affairs yet the U.S-based Washington Times newspaper says that you lied to America about your so-called good intentions for Nigeria and that you have “duped the United States of America” with your false promises and empty words.<br /><br />You say that you are fighting poverty, yet according to the Business Day newspaper, Nigerians are “getting poorer for the first time since 1999”.<br /><br />You say that you will restore our country’s fortunes yet the fuel queues are back and the prices of food, transport and basic commodities are soaring by the day.<br /><br />You say that you are a man of your word and after you were declared winner of the election you promised not to malign, persecute, witchunt, demonise, disrespect or go after President Goodluck Jonathan and members of his administration unless you have concrete evidence of wrongdoing, yet when you came to power you did precisely that.<br /><br />You say you are fair-minded, true to your friends, loyal to your supporters and always reasonable yet you did not concede even one ministerial slot or approve one ministerial nominee of the two men that helped you more than any others to win the presidential election, namely President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Bola Tinubu.<br /><br />You say that you want the country to change, that you believe in fairness and equity, that you are a progressive, that you believe in a generational powershift and that you want the country to move forward, yet you are trying to destroy Governor Bukola Saraki simply because he won an election and became Senate President.<br /><br />You say that you are fighting corruption yet no one has been made to face the music or brought to book over the 25 billion naira REMITA and Systemspecs scandal, and neither has the matter been clarified or resolved even though it has been established that the whole deal was struck under your watch.<br /><br />You say you love Nigeria and all Nigerians yet your Fulani kinsmen, under the guise of herding cattle, are slaughtering thousands of innocent people all over the south and Middle Belt, yet you remain their Grand Patron and you refuse to utter to a word of condemnation for their actions.<br /><br />You say you respect Nigerians yet every time you travel out of the country you spend your time telling foreigners and the foreign media how useless, rotten and corrupt your people are and how you are the only saint in Nigeria.<br /><br />In view of all these, I am constrained to ask whether President Muhammadu Buhari has a conscience or is it that he has just lost touch with reality? Everything that I said about him during the presidential campaign has been confirmed and in just six months he has betrayed the trust and squandered the goodwill that the Nigerian people bestowed upon him in the March presidential election. I have to say that I am not surprised by this because his “change” mantra was just an illusion.<br /><br />What he and his APC failed to disclose to the Nigerian people during the campaign is that what he meant by “change” was a change from light to darkness. Sadly our people trusted him and now he has plunged our nation into that darkness.<br /><br />May God enable him to find the courage to retrace his steps before it is too late and may the Lord deliver Nigeria from those that are around him that fail to tell him the truth.<br /><br />I gather that they call those of us who oppose President Buhari and that are PDP supporters the “wailing wailers”. That is an interesting expression because by the time Buhari finishes with Nigeria I have little doubt that the entire country will be wailing.<br /><br />The truth is that I would rather be a “wailing wailer” that posterity vindicates than a “lying liar” or a “howling howler” who has lost his way and who continues to have confidence in a man like Buhari and a party like the APC that is hell bent on destroying our country and our cherished democratic institutions with their Rambo-like insensitivity and total ineptitude.<br /><br />All those “lying liars” and “howling howlers” who voted for President Buhari should clap for themselves for the terrible mess our country is now in. We will remember them in our prayers too.

For some it's financial security, others maybe security in their homes to protect their valuables. If we do not value anything or anyone then this logic will be obsolete. Now ever since I was a young boy growing up in Nigeria; I always felt secure because during these times (late 80's - early 90's); one didn't hear much about bombings or robberies as such. Maybe it might have been that my mind was not entirely focused on that because I was mainly concerned about playing football with friends and watching bollywood movies. My close encounter with this matter came around Christmas time circa 88-89. My siblings and I were returning from visiting our dad. I remembered when we opened the door, things seemed out of place as broken glass were on the dining table and valuables were missing. The one thing that I still think about was my favorite VHS movie (The Muppets) went missing with our video cassette recorder. Fast forward almost two decades, now living in the United States of America; security is pretty much all that is discussed here. After the attacks in New York in 2001, everyone works together to ensure that their neighbors are secured. In the neighbourhood in which I reside; most of my neighbors have home security systems because everyone goes about their businesses each morning. For my residence, we have what is know as ADT for residential. They provide services for other sectors as well in different industries and places of businesses. The service that they provide for a fee monthly protects your home from poisonous gases, fire and burglary. A system is placed in your home with a special pin code that can be armed and disarmed from the comfort of your mobile device application. All entrances and Windows have a special sensor that triggers an alert to you and then to local law enforcement in any attempt to breach your home and they respond within minutes. So it's very important that citizens place a level of trust with their neighbours; then build a relationship with local authorities (police or the fire service). I personally know that this feat may seem impossible but it's attainable with the right implementation of policies and procedures free of bias and corruption. Nigeria first and foremost should have an operational government with transparency and examples of good leadership that trickles down to its localities thereby building a sense of trust and confidence in the citizens of any and all communities that make up the diaspora.</div> <div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1448733792290_3689" style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;"> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1448733792290_3690" style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;"> By. Before you buy anything by telephone, remember:</span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Don’t buy from an unfamiliar company. Legitimate businesses understand that you want more information about their company and are happy to comply. </span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Always ask for and wait until you receive written material about any offer or charity. If you get brochures about costly investments, ask someone whose financial advice you trust to review them. But, unfortunately, beware—not everything written down is true.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Always check out unfamiliar companies with your local consumer protection agency, Better Business Bureau, state attorney general, the National Fraud Information Center, or other watchdog groups. Unfortunately, not all bad businesses can be identified through these organizations. </span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Obtain a salesperson’s name, business identity, telephone number, street address, mailing address, and business license number before you transact business. Some con artists give out false names, telephone numbers, addresses, and business license numbers. Verify the accuracy of these items.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Before you give money to a charity or make an investment, find out what percentage of the money is paid in commissions and what percentage actually goes to the charity or investment.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Before you send money, ask yourself a simple question. “What guarantee do I really have that this solicitor will use my money in the manner we agreed upon?”</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Don’t pay in advance for services. Pay services only after they are delivered.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of companies that want to send a messenger to your home to pick up money, claiming it is part of their service to you. In reality, they are taking your money without leaving any trace of who they are or where they can be reached.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Always take your time making a decision. Legitimate companies won’t pressure you to make a snap decision.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Don’t pay for a “free prize.” If a caller tells you the payment is for taxes, he or she is violating federal law.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Before you receive your next sales pitch, decide what your limits are—the kinds of financial information you will and won’t give out on the telephone.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be sure to talk over big investments offered by telephone salespeople with a trusted friend, family member, or financial advisor. The recipient is encouraged to send information to the author, such as blank letterhead stationery, bank name and account numbers, and other identifying information using a fax number provided in the letter. Some of these letters have also been received via e-mail through the Internet. The scheme relies on convincing a willing victim, who has demonstrated a “propensity for larceny” by responding to the invitation, to send money to the author of the letter in Nigeria in several installments of increasing amounts for a variety of reasons.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Payment of taxes, bribes to government officials, and legal fees are often described in great detail with the promise that all expenses will be reimbursed as soon as the funds are spirited out of Nigeria. In actuality, the millions of dollars do not exist, and the victim eventually ends up with nothing but loss. Once the victim stops sending money, the perpetrators have been known to use the personal information and checks that they received to impersonate the victim, draining bank accounts and credit card balances. While such an invitation impresses most law-abiding citizens as a laughable hoax, millions of dollars in losses are caused by these schemes annually. Some victims have been lured to Nigeria, where they have been imprisoned against their will along with losing large sums of money. The Nigerian government is not sympathetic to victims of these schemes, since the victim actually conspires to remove funds from Nigeria in a manner that is contrary to Nigerian law. The schemes themselves violate section 419 of the Nigerian criminal code, hence the label “419 fraud.”</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Nigerian Letter or “419” Fraud:</strong></span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">If you receive a letter from Nigeria asking you to send personal or banking information, do not reply in any manner. Send the letter to the U.S. Secret Service, your <a class="internal-link" href="https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field">local FBI office</a>, or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Criminals can get the information they need to assume your identity from a variety of sources, including by stealing your wallet, rifling through your trash, or by compromising your credit or bank information. They may approach you in person, by telephone, or on the Internet and ask you for the information.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">The sources of information about you are so numerous that you cannot prevent the theft of your identity. They may involve the sale of products or services, the offering of investments, lottery winnings, “found money,” or many other “opportunities.” Clever con artists will offer to find financing arrangements for their clients who pay a “finder’s fee” in advance. They require their clients to sign contracts in which they agree to pay the fee when they are introduced to the financing source. Victims often learn that they are ineligible for financing only after they have paid the “finder” according to the contract. Such agreements may be legal unless it can be shown that the “finder” never had the intention or the ability to provide financing for the victims.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Advanced Fee Schemes:</strong></span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">If the offer of an “opportunity” appears too good to be true, it probably is. Follow common business practice. For example, legitimate business is rarely conducted in cash on a street corner.</span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Know who you are dealing with. If you have not heard of a person or company that you intend to do business with, learn more about them. Depending on the amount of money that you plan on spending, you may want to visit the business location, check with the Better Business Bureau, or consult with your bank, an attorney, or the police.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Make sure you fully understand any business agreement that you enter into. If the terms are complex, have them reviewed by a competent attorney.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of businesses that operate out of post office boxes or mail drops and do not have a street address. Also be suspicious when dealing with persons who do not have a direct telephone line and who are never in when you call, but always return your call later.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of business deals that require you to sign nondisclosure or non-circumvention agreements that are designed to prevent you from independently verifying the bona fides of the people with whom you intend to do business. Insurers are then charged for products that were not needed and/or may not have been delivered.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">“Rolling Lab” Schemes:</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Unnecessary and sometimes fake tests are given to individuals at health clubs, retirement homes, or shopping malls and billed to insurance companies or Medicare.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Services Not Performed:</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Customers or providers bill insurers for services never rendered by changing bills or submitting fake ones.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Medicare Fraud:</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Medicare fraud can take the form of any of the health insurance frauds described above. Senior citizens are frequent targets of Medicare schemes, especially by medical equipment manufacturers who offer seniors free medical products in exchange for their Medicare numbers. Because a physician has to sign a form certifying that equipment or testing is needed before Medicare pays for it, con artists fake signatures or bribe corrupt doctors to sign the forms. Once a signature is in place, the manufacturers bill Medicare for merchandise or service that was not needed or was not ordered.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Health Care Fraud or Health Insurance Fraud:</strong></span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never sign blank insurance claim forms.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Never give blanket authorization to a medical provider to bill for services rendered.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Ask your medical providers what they will charge and what you will be expected to pay out-of-pocket.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Carefully review your insurer’s explanation of the benefits statement. Individuals promoting this scam frequently cite various discredited legal theories and may refer to the scheme as “Redemption,” “Strawman,” or “Acceptance for Value.” Trainers and websites will often charge large fees for “kits” that teach individuals how to perpetrate this scheme. They will often imply that others have had great success in discharging debt and purchasing merchandise such as cars and homes. Failures to implement the scheme successfully are attributed to individuals not following instructions in a specific order or not filing paperwork at correct times.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">This scheme predominately uses fraudulent financial documents that appear to be legitimate. These documents are frequently referred to as “bills of exchange,” “promissory bonds,” “indemnity bonds,” “offset bonds,” “sight drafts,” or “comptrollers warrants.” In addition, other official documents are used outside of their intended purpose, like IRS forms 1099, 1099-OID, and 8300. This scheme frequently intermingles legal and pseudo legal terminology in order to appear lawful. Notaries may be used in an attempt to make the fraud appear legitimate. Often, victims of the scheme are instructed to address their paperwork to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Redemption/Strawman/Bond Fraud:</strong></span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of individuals or groups selling kits that they claim will inform you on to access secret bank accounts. </span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of individuals or groups proclaiming that paying federal and/or state income tax is not necessary. </span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not believe that the U.S. Treasury controls bank accounts for all citizens. </span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be skeptical of individuals advocating that speeding tickets, summons, bills, tax notifications, or similar documents can be resolved by writing “acceptance for value” on them.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">If you know of anyone advocating the use of property liens to coerce acceptance of this scheme, contact your local FBI office.</span></li> </ul> <div style="text-align: center;"> <span class="blackgraphtx"></span><span class="blackgraphtx"><a href="https://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud/fraud/fraud/#top#top">back to top</a></span></div> <div align="center"> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Investment-Related Scams</strong></span></div> <div align="center"> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="locf"></a>Letter of Credit Fraud</strong></span></div> <span class="blackgraphtx">Legitimate letters of credit are never sold or offered as investments. They are issued by banks to ensure payment for goods shipped in connection with international trade. Payment on a letter of credit generally requires that the paying bank receive documentation certifying that the goods ordered have been shipped and are en route to their intended destination. Letters of credit frauds are often attempted against banks by providing false documentation to show that goods were shipped when, in fact, no goods or inferior goods were shipped.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">Other letter of credit frauds occur when con artists offer a “letter of credit” or “bank guarantee” as an investment wherein the investor is promised huge interest rates on the order of 100 to 300 percent annually. Such investment “opportunities” simply do not exist. (See Prime Bank Notes for additional information.)</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Letter of Credit Fraud:</strong></span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">If an “opportunity” appears too good to be true, it probably is.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not invest in anything unless you understand the deal. Con artists rely on complex transactions and faulty logic to “explain” fraudulent investment schemes.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Do not invest or attempt to “purchase” a “letter of credit.” Such investments simply do not exist.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be wary of any investment that offers the promise of extremely high yields.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Independently verify the terms of any investment that you intend to make, including the parties involved and the nature of the investment. </span></li> </ul> <div align="center"> <span class="blackgraphtx"><a href="https://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud/fraud/fraud/#top#top">back to top</a></span></div> <div align="center"> <span class="blackgraphtx"><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="pbnf"></a><strong>Prime Bank Note Fraud</strong></span></div> <span class="blackgraphtx">International fraud artists have invented an investment scheme that supposedly offers extremely high yields in a relatively short period of time. In this scheme, they claim to have access to “bank guarantees” that they can buy at a discount and sell at a premium. By reselling the “bank guarantees” several times, they claim to be able to produce exceptional returns on investment. For example, if $10 million worth of “bank guarantees” can be sold at a two percent profit on 10 separate occasions—or “traunches”—the seller would receive a 20 percent profit. Such a scheme is often referred to as a “roll program.”</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">To make their schemes more enticing, con artists often refer to the “guarantees” as being issued by the world’s “prime banks,” hence the term “prime bank guarantees.” Other official sounding terms are also used, such as “prime bank notes” and “prime bank debentures.” Legal documents associated with such schemes often require the victim to enter into non-disclosure and non-circumvention agreements, offer returns on investment in “a year and a day”, and claim to use forms required by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). In fact, the ICC has issued a warning to all potential investors that no such investments exist.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">The purpose of these frauds is generally to encourage the victim to send money to a foreign bank, where it is eventually transferred to an off-shore account in the control of the con artist. From there, the victim’s money is used for the perpetrator’s personal expenses or is laundered in an effort to make it disappear.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">While foreign banks use instruments called “bank guarantees” in the same manner that U.S. banks use letters of credit to insure payment for goods in international trade, such bank guarantees are never traded or sold on any kind of market.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Prime Bank Note Fraud:</strong></span><br /> <ul type="square"> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Think before you invest in anything. Be wary of an investment in any scheme, referred to as a “roll program,” that offers unusually high yields by buying and selling anything issued by “prime banks.”</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">As with any investment, perform due diligence. Instead of investing the funds of victims, however, the con artist pays “dividends” to initial investors using the funds of subsequent investors. The scheme generally falls apart when the operator flees with all of the proceeds or when a sufficient number of new investors cannot be found to allow the continued payment of “dividends.”</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">This type of fraud is named after its creator—Charles Ponzi of Boston, Massachusetts. In the early 1900s, Ponzi launched a scheme that guaranteed investors a 50 percent return on their investment in postal coupons. Although he was able to pay his initial backers, the scheme dissolved when he was unable to pay later investors.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx"><strong>Tips for Avoiding Ponzi Schemes:</strong></span><br /> <ul> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Be careful of any investment opportunity that makes exaggerated earnings claims.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Exercise due diligence in selecting investments and the people with whom you invest—in other words, do your homework.</span></li> <li><span class="blackgraphtx">Consult an unbiased third party—like an unconnected broker or licensed financial advisor—before investing.</span></li> </ul> <div align="center"> <span class="blackgraphtx"><a href="https://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud/fraud/fraud/#top#top">back to top</a></span></div> <div align="center"> <span class="blackgraphtx"><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="pyramid"></a><strong>Pyramid Schemes</strong></span></div> <span class="blackgraphtx">As in Ponzi schemes, the money collected from newer victims of the fraud is paid to earlier victims to provide a veneer of legitimacy. In pyramid schemes, however, the victims themselves are induced to recruit further victims through the payment of recruitment commissions.</span><br /> <span class="blackgraphtx">More specifically, pyramid schemes—also referred to as franchise fraud or chain referral schemes—are marketing and investment frauds in which an individual is offered a distributorship or franchise to market a particular product. The real profit is earned, not by the sale of the product, but by the sale of new distributorships. Maybe an Ocean’s 12 style infiltration would work… but let’s not forget the 40-ton vault door. The door was so airtight that a single hairpin would keep it from closing. Knox. It came at a time when there were lots claims that “There’s no gold in Ft. Knox.” Then US Congressman John Conlon from Arizona was one who “saw the gold.” However, there was no audit. It was a “walk through.”<br /> Supposedly, there is a regular “internal” audit of the gold at Ft. Knox and the gold in the vaults of the NY Fed. Not only is there the question of how much gold is in Ft. The Social Security trust fund has been robbed of more than 4 trillion dollars used for other purposes than what it was intended for. This has been a big piggy bank for the government to steal our money.Fort Knox if their is gold in the vault who does it actually belong to? I am tired of the government thinking they know what is best for Americans. There are just too many secrets all in the name of national security more like in the name of national secerecy. It was stated that at the New York Federal Reserve 98% of the gold in the vault does not belong to our country. Close enough to touch it were it not for the tight weave of the the steel mesh screen inside the thick steel bars. The 89-ton door had to be raised ~2” before rotating 90 degrees in order to allow a through-passage. In the picture shown, you can see the curved edges on the floor at the front and rear. Once closed, you’d have to penetrate 2 VERY thick steel walls. I visited recently on a tour. Minimal security on entry, one tour guide escort down to the vault level for 25 visitors. Half of the group was sent down to the entrance unescorted, and asked to wait in the lobby for the second group to come in another elevator with the guide<br /> The vault was wide open, and is left that way all day apparently, and the entire group was able to enter, and even try to touch the gold by pushing finger through the gratings. The door into the gold storage room, just bars, was locked with a small everyday padlock and two other locks. The individual storage “cells” for the gold had combination locks, however were just steel barred doors.<br /> Entry to the vault area was past a small office area, with a few older office people at desks. There were no robots, just manual scales used for weighing, and electric pallet jacks for lifting. From the street to the gold, was a single unsecured glass door, an elevator, a vault level door with a swipe card access, and then the steel doors through to what was described as billions of gold bullion.<br /> Only 3 security guards were passed, all with small caliber handguns. The technology they have today is amazing, but nothing works better than steel and multiple levels of security. What about the vaults that hold cash at casinos in Las Vegas? Do they have vaults that are comparable to these?
