Biafra,Police,Terrorism and Crime in Nigeria

Nigerian citizens are indeed victims of terrorism on a daily basis.People are subjected to all kinds of indignity for various reasons.You are terrorised for lack of adequate means of transportation by bus drivers and their mates known as conductors.All kinds of foul language spew from their mouth as if they were born with profanities.That is terrorism by other means.Fuel scarcity is a recurring decimal.When you think the problem has been tackled and laid to rest,it rears its ugly heads up without warning.Lives are lost as people store flammable petrol in their houses.More people die in the attempt to sabotage petroleum pipelines.Trucks laden with the product are involved in series of freak accidents that claim many lives.The Nigerian Senate is already in the process of passing a bill that will muzzle free speech which they term the social media bill.Majority of Nigerians feel they are being terrorised by their law makers not minding the fact that the same lawmakers came to power on the back of the social media.Every where you look in Nigeria,you are being terrorised.Domestic violence is another form of terrorism which is rampant in Nigeria.The other day a woman was bathed with acid by her husband for alleged infidelity.It is a thing of surprise however that agitators for Biafra have not resorted to violence in the propagation of their agenda.The Police must also be commended for not loosing their cool over the agitation.Our people must not resort to violence in other to make their voice to be heard.The Police on its part must continue to re strategize in her rules of engagement to avoid hitherto peaceful groups from donning the toga of violence.The case of Boko Haram is a very good example.What do we say about driving in our major cities?Driving in Nigeria is another form of terrorism.Drivers hardly obey traffic rules and thereby terrorise others.Sometimes you see motorists alight from their vehicles to engage in raw physical combat all because of reckless driving and resultant collisions.Sirens blare to drive lesser mortals from the highway.The sirens don't come from emergency units like ambulances or fire trucks but by those in government or some vagabonds who came by sudden wealth the source of which are usually questionable.So on a daily basis in Nigeria Security people have a lot to contend with.Atimes too, they also ignite conflict.There have been cases where soldiers invaded police barracks or stations shooting indiscriminately.Lawlessness at its peak.One wonders when we shall begin to get things right in Nigeria.Your guess is as good as mine.

The $2.1 billion Arms Scandal in Nigeria

Have you heard the news?*In Nigeria a whopping $2.1 billion is missing.The money was meant for the purchase of arms for the war against Boko Haram terrorist.The man at the Centre of the scandal is Sambo Dasuki a rtd colonel who was the National Security Adviser to ex President Goodluck Jonathan.A lot of names are being bandied about as to who got what and for what purpose.Names like Dokpesi of AIT a private TV station owner.Nduka Obaigbena a newspaper mogul who has a penchant for hobnobbing with the rich and famous.Idris Yuguda former Minister of State Finance.What a real shame.In another news former Governor of Imo State,Ikedi Ohakim also known as Ikiri or Ochinanwata has been charged for buying a mansion in Asokoro District of Abuja for $2.29 million in cash.This amount was allegedly stolen from the Imo State government treasury.Imo people are all praying he goes to jaill,even though they still have to contend with another monster who is a certified scam artist.Stealing on a gargantuan scale is going on daily in Nigeria and the government claims to be fighting corruption.We hope that this is not a government of abracadabra,the more you look,the less you see.<br /> <br /> <br />

BOMBS TO GO OFF SOON IN ABUJA

Security Reports indicate that bombs detonated by terterroristsrorists are likely to go off soon in Abuja.There have been series of warnnngs coming from diverse sources pointing to this.The intelligence unit of the Abuja Municipal Council had earlier issued a written warning to all residents to ensure they avoid public places that attract many people.It would appear that the office of the National Security Adviser has also issued such warnings.The American Government the other day came up with an advisory warming to<br />  all her citizens in Nigeria that terrorists had perfected plans to bomb hotels in Abuja.   The hotels that eisily come to mind are many.Such hotels as Transcorp Hilton,Ibeto Hotels,Sheraton Hotels,Agura Hotel,Nixon Luxury Hotels,Chida Hotels,Chelsea Hotels and a host of others are possible targets.It behoves Security Agencies and the management of the hotels to work out strategies on how best to tackle this impending doom.<br /> Apart from this warning,Nigerians must also gear up for a Paris like shooting or the recent California shooting by a Muslim man and wife.We pray and hope it doesn't happen here.Those who want peace always prepare for war.<br /> <br /> <br />
